The future of phone number verification points towards a more integrated and proactive defense. AI and machine learning are crucial, continually learning from new data to identify complex fraud patterns. The goal is to move beyond simple checks to a holistic assessment of identity, combining phone-based signals with other data points for a truly robust and adaptive fraud prevention ecosystem.
