Offline women in the digital world

As women working in the digital field, we wanted to ask ourselves today, why do we never hear about successful women and their achievements in the digital world? We all know well-known male figures in this sector. People like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, etc.
However, we don't hear these recognitions list of bermuda consumer email from women like Ann Handley who was recognized by IBM as one of the 7 most important marketing professionals today or Veronica Gentili who is in charge of marketing at Facebook.
Even within our own country, women like Maria Teresa Hernandez, director of Google Mexico, are not mentioned. If we analyze this world of technology, it has become a topic "not for women" , a stereotype far from reality. Global Women in PR indicates that 66 % of public relations professionals believe that having more female role models in senior management is the key to closing this digital gap .
The online reality
Within our country, the fact that women are excluded from this sector not only gives us a lack of recognition within our professional lives. It takes away the opportunity for girls, young women, and women to learn and know more about topics . Because within our society it is believed that they can abandon other priorities that correspond to women or that it is not worth involving women in learning more about the web due to the stereotypes that are imposed on us .

Not to mention that they cannot relate to topics that identify them for the same reason that the digital world does not recognize women , or the wage gap that exists within this industry. Even women who are public figures in the virtual world receive more threats and sexual violence, which forces them to leave digital platforms.
Let's not go that far, as Ixel García from Luchadoras Mx mentions, we could ask ourselves why personal assistants like Alexa and Siri have a woman's voice?

Obtaining a diversity of voices and opinions from women is the answer to overcome this digital divide. Women in our country must have training to learn more about the digital world and have more opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The survey “What we keep quiet about in the Home Office” mentions that 85 % of women have not received training to learn or improve their skills within the digital world .
This is important, since women need this knowledge to be able to intervene in issues of interest to them, get a job that they like, and in general, exercise their universal right to be in a free, safe space that includes them.

Women have the right and ability to be online
It is clear to us that without women there is no digital world, because without women there would be no Interius . 72% of our consultancy is made up of brilliant and authentic women from different backgrounds, beliefs and careers.
Together, alongside our colleagues, we have created the consultancy that we are today. Named by PRO Network as one of the most promising startups in Mexico in 2021. Giving our clients and collaborators the necessary solutions to achieve their goals.
This March 8, we are proud to be part of Interius , a company where they see and recognize our achievements as women in digital marketing. They support us in doing our bit so that the women who will be in our shoes tomorrow have a better future in this area . Interius supports us in the strike on March 9 to give an example of what our country and now the digital world would be like without us.
