Post by jisansorkar12 »

On March 30, 2020, non-working days began in our country due to the pandemic. Since then, Covid has weakened significantly and has become more like a cold. For most people who get sick, it now goes away in about two weeks. But for some, health problems drag on for months, which prevents them from working normally and having a good rest. And sometimes post-Covid syndrome can be completely confused with fatigue or banal laziness and let everything take its course.

This article will be useful for those who are concerned about their condition after Covid and want to figure out whether to wait for everything to go away on its own or to see a doctor.

What is post-covid syndrome
The World Health Organization defines post-Covid syndrome as coronavirus symptoms that uganda whatsapp list persist or return within three months of infection. That is, when the condition does not normalize even after the fever and cough go away and tests become negative.

The most common, but not the only, symptoms of post-Covid that distinguish it from a cold are loss of smell and taste, hair loss, fatigue, impaired cognitive functions (thinking and memory), and anxiety without apparent cause. These symptoms cannot be explained by other diseases. They may disappear and then return, which negatively affects daily life and work capacity.

It might be assumed that the effects of the disease are more pronounced in patients with risk factors such as high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, obesity. However, no direct connection has been established.

Post-Covid syndrome can develop in patients who have had a moderate or even mild form of the disease, as well as in those who were vaccinated before infection. However, in most cases, the long-term consequences of COVID are manifested in those who had a severe form of the disease. Research into post-Covid syndrome in vaccinated people is only just underway, but it can already be said that the introduction of the vaccine reduces the likelihood of prolonged COVID.

Stages of Covid disease
1. Mild condition — presence of at least one symptom other than fever: cough, loss of taste and smell, weakness.
2. Moderate condition — confirmed pneumonia caused by Covid.
3. Severe condition — presence of one or more alarming symptoms: respiratory rate over 30 breaths per minute, oxygen saturation of 93% or less, impaired oxygen metabolism.
4. Critical condition — need for artificial ventilation, severe systemic damage to the heart, liver and kidneys.

What and how to treat post-covid
Covid can attack the body from different sides, in each case targeting the weakest points - the lungs, heart, nervous system, kidneys, liver, blood vessels. Some patients also experience depression, insomnia and other mental health problems, which worsen the general condition. This may be due to prolonged isolation, stress due to financial difficulties, illness or death of loved ones.

After recovery, all these symptoms usually go away. But if after a while they suddenly return again, it is important not to ignore them and to see a doctor to rule out, for example, heart disease, lung disease, mental pathology. Any symptom that interferes with everyday life is a reason to go to the clinic.

The effects of Covid can be very unpleasant, especially those that affect your ability to work. Some of them can be dealt with on your own. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides recommendations on how to alleviate poor health. Here are some tips.

Smell and taste are linked. So when the coronavirus attacks cells in the nasal cavity, it can lead to both a loss or distortion of smell (a condition called anosmia) and taste. Patients may also notice that familiar foods have acquired a strange or unpleasant smell and taste.
